Mweya Peninsular in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Mweya peninsular is located in Queen Elizabeth national park in the Kasese district, South Western part of Uganda! Queen Elizabeth is known to be the most visited destination among Uganda’s national parks. This is approximately 402kilometres by road from Kampala’s capital city. Mweya peninsular is located on the North Eastern shores of Lake Edward, the point where the Kazinga channel joins the lake.

Mongoose tracking is done in the Mweya peninsular on foot with the help of an experienced guide who will help with most information during this tracking takes three hours. Other animals like baboons and warthogs can be spotted during this tracking as well as birds such as the Verreaux’s eagle, black-headed gonolek, black bee-eater, slender-billed weaver, swamp flycatcher, and yellow-backed weaver among others.
